Possible Relationship Between Light (Energy) & Color

I often wondered how light (energy) is able to carry color after bouncing off an object.  For instance, how do the leaves of a tree appear green after the light bounces off them and then enters my eyes?  How does a cloud from a long distance away appear white after the light reflects off its surface and enters my eyes?  How is light (energy) able to carry information on an object's color when making contact with that object and then routing that information to my eyes where that information…

Announcement - GoDaddy Embraces .LA

Recently, GoDaddy announced that it has started selling .LA domains. Those of us that know GoDaddy well understand that this is a very welcome change. Not only is GoDaddy selling .LA domains, but, it is also advertising this effort via billboards throughout LA. Up to this point in time, advertising of .LA was essentially non-existent. Therefore, we very much welcome having a multi-billion dollar revenue company backing .LA with this kind of vision.

With that said, let's take a deeper… Continue

Bits & Pieces

We've often wondered why Google has chosen to use Google.LA for Laos when this space is clearly being marketed and used for the LA Metropolitan Area. One thought that came to our mind is the concern of city TLDs becoming the mainstream and with it a redirection of ad dollars going to city coffers. Well, that thought has become a step closer to reality with .nyc. According to Connecting.NYC, this very idea is being considered via search.nyc. Given Google's attempt to create confusion in the .LA… Continue

Bits & Pieces

Hello Southlanders, it's been a while since we posted our last blog. As many of you already know, ICANN is in the process of reviewing applications for over 1,900 new top level domains (TLDs). New TLDs are expected to be released as early as the second half of this year.

We've been waiting patiently as we know .LA will benefit from… Continue

Hello Southlanders,

Ever wonder who owns .LA?  LA Registry Pte Limited (previously known as "LA Names Corporation") acquired the marketing rights to .LA and started selling .LA domains during the Summer of 2003.  That's right, .LA domains have been available from LA Registry Pte Limited for almost 8 years.

I remember hearing about .LA on the radio one morning while on my way to work.  I thought to myself, "What a novel idea having a domain name for a…
